So Fun with DCWV!

No comments:
Happy Monday to you! I have a project to share with you today featuring the "Marquee Stack" from Die Cuts with a View.

"So Fun..  Expo" (12 x 12 Page)

This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of Scrappity Dappity Doo!. I do receive financial compensation and products from DCWV to develop certain blog posts, but all of the ideas and opinions noted are my own.

I recently attended the Scrapbook Expo in Saint Paul, MN. It's a fun event and for that day, I was able to meet up with some friends and goof around a bit which was a nice relaxing break. Sometimes we forget to capture the everyday and a bit about ourselves, so that is what this page is all about.

The Marquee Stack was a perfect match to my photo and the page. The title work here is done from the stack. I used some of my dies to create the tag, torn paper, banner and flourish. The "Expo" title was cut from the pattern paper in the stack.

There are such pretty glitter accents in this stack, you can see it on the tickets that I cut out by hand and on the flourish die cut too. To contrast this, I layered some vellum into the design, then added a few sequins, gems and arrows.

This project is also inspired by our August Stack-a-holic Challenge. This challenge ends today, so if you hurry, you can still play along! I turned the sketch and switched it up a bit. Here is the sketch:

Altered Art featuring the Provence Collection

No comments:
Sunday greetings to you! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend whatever you are up to.

I took some time to craft and have a project to share with you featuring the all new Provence collection by BoBunny. I've been inspired by the wall collages I keep seeing on Pinterest of various initials and have a plan to create one in our home. First, I need to collect or make a variety of initials.

Here I used the Provence pattern papers, Brads, and Chipboard, along with the Stickable Stencils and some Glitter Paste and Pearlescents. A few BoBunny dies and Silver Foil Transfers were also used.

I started with an initial that I bought at my local craft store, Michael's. It was base coated with some light blue acrylic paint. Once I chose the French Quarter paper for my base, the initial was traced and trimmed to fit. To attach, I used Mod Podge, then sanded the edges and inked them after.

For a more shabby chic look, you could leave the sanded edges.

Final added touches were to brush some Pearlescents in Butterscotch and Coral onto the flowers. A bit of Wasabi Glitter Paste was touched lightly on a few of the leaves for accent.

This project was so much fun, I'm sure I will be making a few others and featuring them here as well, so stay tuned!

Art Journal with Enchanted Harvest

No comments:
Friday greetings to you!

I have an art journal project to share with you featuring one of the new collections by BoBunny called "Enchanted Harvest". I've used some of our new Stickable Stencils and Laser Cut Chipboard as well.

Today's project features a historical family photo from harvest time when they still used horses. I am so grateful to have this photo, I had never seen this until recently. Growing up on a farm, the fall is a busy time of year and I have absolutely loved fall ever since I was a very young child. I will never forget harvest time, and this photo serves as a reminder of how much work goes into growing the crops that feed our families.

I started this project by using the Glimmer Spray in Bronze and painting it around the edges of both pages of the art journal and set aside to dry. I selected my papers, trimmed them to size and rounded the outer corners.

Here you see the all new "Whimsy" Stickable Stencil design in the background using modeling paste. I also layered the Filagree Foil Transfers in Gold on the bottom for accent.

A die cut using the 3x4 Lattice Frame Die was layered under the matted photo. The chipboard tag is helping to disguise the torn corner of the photo.

For the right hand page I have used the new "Leaf" Stickable Stencil with Copper Glitter Paste. You'll see that I've cut some of the pattern paper elements and layered them. The vertical banner is a piece from Noteworthy. Some more Filagree Foil Transfer in Gold is used by the butterfly as an accent.

The "Forever" sentiment is one of our new Laser Cut Chipboard pieces from the "Memories" package. I've treated it with Bronze Glimmer Spray and then stamped on it with Licorice Ink using the Distressed Textures stamps.

Angel Documented with BoBunny

No comments:
Greetings!  I was recently up on the BoBunny blog featuring a mixed media page with one of our newest collections, Genevieve.

My project for today is a mixed media page featuring the all new and utterly beautiful "Genevieve" collection. I wanted to feature the angelic feel of my photos from our recent vacation. This particular center photo looks to me like an angel glowing at the end, so that is the perspective behind the title.

To begin, I stamped the angled typescript from the "It is Written"stamp set. I've used Silver Glitter Paste with our new Whimsy Stickable Stencil for a background accent.

For my title work I've combined one of the new "Celebrate" Laser Cut Chipboard sentiments, finished with gesso and then a light rub of Silver Pearlescents.  The "Documented" sentiment and flourish are from the Filagree Silver Foil Transfer collection.

A few splatters of Glimmer Spray in Sugar and Frost added a bit of movement and texture on the page also. For my collage, I layered piece of Noteworthy, Chipboard and Combo Stickers. The extra small chipboard sentiment was the perfect finishing touch.
